Role Description
About the Role:
Multiple hospitality venues across Regional NSW are seeking well-experienced Chef/Sous Chefs to support Head Chefs in running efficient, high-quality kitchens. This role suits an experienced second-in-command who can lead service, maintain standards, and step up in the Head Chef's absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in planning, preparing and executing the menu to a consistently high standard.
Oversee kitchen operations and lead service in the Head Chef's absence.
Supervise, train and mentor cooks, apprentices and kitchen hands.
Maintain consistency in taste, presentation and portion control across all sections.
Assist with stock control, ordering, supplier coordination and minimising food wastage.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
Contribute ideas to menu development and seasonal specials.
Maintain a positive, high-performing kitchen culture during busy service periods.
Skills & Experience Required:
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
Solid, demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a commercial kitchen.
Strong technical cooking skills across multiple sections.
Proven ability to lead and support a kitchen team, including in the Head Chef's absence.
Sound understanding of food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
Ability to perform confidently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
