Working alongside an experienced Head Chef with more than 15 years of culinary experience across Australia and New Zealand, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a new hospitality concept from the ground up.

The successful candidate will be involved across breakfast, dinner and relaxed drinks service, with opportunities to contribute to menu development, kitchen operations and the overall growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes, presentation standards and food safety requirements.

  • Maintain consistent food quality, flavour, presentation, portion control and service standards.

  • Assist with the development of seasonal menu items and contribute ideas for menu improvement.

  • Work efficiently and professionally during busy service periods.

  • Coordinate closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.

  • Assist with training, mentoring and supervision of apprentices, junior chefs and kitchen staff.

  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and appropriate storage of ingredients.

  • Ensure effective stock rotation and minimise food wastage.

  • Assist with food cost control and efficient kitchen operations.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the kitchen.

  • Comply with all applicable food safety, WHS and workplace requirements.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant commercial kitchen experience in Australia.

  • Strong knowledge of contemporary cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen operations.

  • Experience working in a busy restaurant, café, hospitality or similar commercial environment.

  • Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining consistent quality.

  • Strong communication, teamwork and time-management skills.

  • A professional approach with a genuine passion for food, hospitality and customer experience.

  • Flexibility to work across breakfast, dinner, weekends and public holidays as required.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time employment with a growing hospitality business.

  • Competitive salary of $75,000–$80,000 + superannuation.

  • Opportunity to be part of a new dining concept from its early development stage.

  • Supportive and professional kitchen environment.

  • Mentorship and guidance from an experienced Head Chef.

  • Opportunities to contribute to menu development and kitchen operations.

  • Potential pathway to SC482 sponsorship after an initial 3–6 month employment period, subject to performance, business requirements, eligibility and applicable sponsorship/visa requirements.

Work Rights & Sponsorship:

  • Applicants must currently hold valid working rights in Australia.

  • Potential SC482 sponsorship may be considered for a suitable candidate following an initial employment period.

  • Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be subject to the employer's requirements, candidate eligibility, applicable occupation and visa requirements, and successful completion of the initial employment period.

  • Candidates requiring sponsorship should clearly outline their current visa status and work rights in their application.
